National Defense Academy (NDA) Entry: 

Post: Officer

 

The NDA Entry only allows Male candidates to sit for NDA Examination conducted by UPSC. 

 

You can join the Naval Academy by clearing the exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). This exam is conducted in major cities of India twice in every year. This forum not only holds an exam for recruiting Navy Officials but also the Indian Army, Indian Air Force.  

 

Educational Qualification for NDA Entry - Candidates should have passed or are appearing for a 10+2 final examination from any one of the sanctioned educational board of India.

Age Eligibility for NDA Entry: Candidate’s age must be between 16.5 years to 19 years. This is tenure between the commencement of course.



B. Tech Cadet Entry:

Alike, the NDA Entry, the Artificer Apprentice only recruits male candidates in the Indian Navy. 

 

Educational Qualification for Artificer Apprentice - Candidate must qualify 10+2 examination with at 60% aggregate. Physics and Mathematics is a mandatory subject for being eligible for Artificer Apprentice. And the candidate must have one of the following subjects - biology, chemistry, and computer science. He must pass the higher secondary examination from any of the educational boards recognized by the Indian Government. 

 

Age Eligibility for Artificer Apprentice - The age of the candidate necessarily needs to be between 17 years to 20 years

 

Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR):

Post: Sailor

 

Indian Navy issues online application form for bachelor or unmarried male candidates. This enrolls candidates as a sailor for Senior Secondary Recruitment posts. 

The recruitment is for male candidates only.

 

Educational Qualification for Senior Secondary Recruitment posts - You are eligible to apply only if you have qualified 10+2 examination from a recognized board of Education in India with Physics and Mathematics along with either chemistry, biology, or computer science. 

 

Age Eligibility for Senior Secondary Recruitment posts - Candidates eligible to register for the recruitment must belong from age between 17 years to 20 years.

 

Sports Quota Entry:

Post - Officers and Sailors

 

It facilitates direct entry of the candidates. 

 

Educational qualification for Sports Quota direct entry - The candidates need to 12th pass from a recognized Education Board in India.No minimum aggregate is necessary to get entry through Sports quota. 

 

But the candidate must possess on or more of the following achievements, brilliant sportsmen who have participated at International Championship, Junior or senior national championship. Can be a participant at a senior state-level championship or  All India Inter level University championship in athletics, aquatics, cricket, basketball, boxing, football, hockey, kabaddi, handball, volleyball, weight lifting, fencing, golf, rowing, sailing, tennis, etc. 

 

Age eligibility for Sports Quota direct entry - The age eligibility for recruitment through sports quota is restricted between 17 years to 21 years.

 How can a girl join the Navy after 12th?

Indian Navy started recruiting women as Sort Service Commission from July 1992. 

A girl can join the Navy after 12th in the following ways:

  1. Naval Architecture,
  2. Logistic Works
  3. Observer
  4. ATC
  5. Pilot General
  6. Naval Armament inspectorate
  7. CPL Holders

 

Naval Architecture: 

Any women candidate applying for the post must have at least a 60% aggregate in BE or B.Tech in mechanical or naval or aeronautical or civil architecture. 

The candidate’s age must be between 19.5 years to 25 years. 

 

Logistic Works: 

The candidate must be a BE B.tech or B.Architect. 

For logistic cadre, the candidate must have BE or B.Tech in either of a subject, MBA, B.sc, B.Com, etc. 

The age tenure for a candidate is restricted between 19.5 years to 25 years.

 

ATC:

The candidates must possess B.Tech or BE degree in any discipline. Also, the candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject in their 10+2 examination. 

 

The minimum age is 19.5 years while the maximum age limit for ATC is 25 years. 

 

Pilot General:

The age restriction for candidates applying for Pilot general is 19 to 24 years. 

Candidates must have Mathematics and Physics for their Higher Secondary examination and must possess a B.Tech and BE degree in any discipline. 

 

Naval Armament Inspectator:

The age of the candidate should be between 19 and a half years to 25 years. The candidates applying for the post must have a B.Tech or BE degree in Electrical or Instrumentation or Electronics or Chemical or Metallurgy or Mechanical or Production or IT or Aerospace Engineering.

 

CPL Holders:

The candidate’s age should be between 19 to 25 years. The candidates are only eligible if they have valid and current CPL issued by DGCA, India
